Press Release
El Segundo, CA, April 2, 2025
Sift, the leading observability platform for mission-critical hardware systems, today announced its partnership with Impulse Space, a leader in the development of in-space logistics services for the inner solar system. Impulse will deploy Sift’s advanced telemetry solution streamlining data management and analysis to accelerate their pioneering missions beyond low Earth orbit.
Founded by Tom Mueller, former SpaceX propulsion CTO, Impulse is setting new standards in efficient, cost-effective payload delivery and hosting in space. This collaboration highlights the increasing need for specialized observability tools tailored to the challenges of modern aerospace engineering.
Sift simplifies the complexities of hardware telemetry, equipping engineers with a single source of truth for Impulse’s telemetry data and reporting. The platform provides the following benefits to Impulse:
“Aerospace companies like Impulse have had to work around the limitations of traditional IT monitoring tools or invest heavily in building in-house systems, neither of which scales with the demands of modern machines,” said Karthik Gollapudi, CEO and Co-Founder of Sift. “Sift changes that equation by handling the massive volume and velocity of data inherent to aerospace missions. We’re excited to help Impulse bring their innovative vision for space exploration to life.”
Sift’s Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs), all with SpaceX flight software experience, bring deep, hands-on expertise that strengthens the partnership. Impulse highlighted Sift’s technical leadership, noting that its architecture decisions and roadmap aligned with Impulse’s growth and mission needs.
This partnership highlights the growing reliance on purpose-built observability tools to optimize mission-critical operations in aerospace. As the space industry evolves, collaborations between innovative companies like Impulse and technology providers such as Sift are driving transformative advancements in space exploration, making ambitious missions beyond low Earth orbit more achievable.
